A 27% interest rate is diabolical.

Reminds me of the idea of the 50-year mortgage...

"Small Print leads to Large Risk" - Ferengi Rules of Acquistion #8. (Star Trek nerd alert!)

Assymetric Knowledge at it's worst. We see it most commonly with auto purchases and the tatics of keeping someone in the showroom for as long as posible to get a deal. It leads to the simple question "What percentage of the financing did the pet store make?"

Bloomberg's "Odd Lots" recently ran a podcast with the CEO of Affirm and it was very enlightening as to the business practices of BNPL entities.

Thanks for sharing, can't wait to listen. Now that I am on break, I have more time to catch up on podcasts and readings. Thanks, Lary.

Come January I begin a Fellowship for the 2026 calendar year. My Remarkable is full of papers and books with the intent of getting through "some".

Do you recommend the remarkable?

My rule is to always buy the book

For me it's a mixed use situation. 50% for books that I can easily mark up and sync w/ laptop or cloud storage. The rest of the time I'm taking notes for various reasons. The number of templates continues to grow.

I bought the 2 and keep trying to justify upgrading to the Pro for the color PDFs (journals which I can than easily delete or catalog only the pages I find useful.)

*Physical books are great, might even curb my hit "buy" habit for epubs which far surpassed my paper collection.

I will say it. Pets are just as expensive as children and should be considered with the same amount of care before adopting.

A great lesson . I remember September 1994 when I had to deal with purchasing a car. I went through the same situation. It was a hard lesson .

I do remember that experience. Some lessons are learned the hard way.
