Took a little fiddling to get the sound to work. About men: One possible way to approach this, given the unexpectedly delicate egos of men in today's America, might be to approach the problem as if we were talking about entrepreneurs -- living the life of of a human being is similar to entrepreneurs -- we try to achieve a good outcome -- we need investors, suppliers and customers -- on average we fail several times, fall on our faces -- then we need to start over gain to set up the support network of investors, suppliers, customers. As a metaphor, perhaps this would be a more acceptable metaphor than "asking for help".
